x2 Jan 23, 2005 · It was actually an H22 head on an F23 bottom end. That said, they don't recommend it to anyone. Costs about 10 grand to make it work, and the fabrication required is insane. The only reason to do this is the show quality of it. Otherwise, get it out of your head right now. I'll refrain from any more "numbnuts" comments. yes its possible. a few ppl on HT have done it with little machining. the guy that did the h23 head /f23 block hybrid bored the block and stuck h22a4 pistons in there and decked the head. i think he's running something like 12.5:1 CR and is putting down whp numbers comparable to a stock h22. The ringlands and sleeves are garbage, when it comes to boost anyways. I recently read an interesting article in Import Tuner, in which they broke down the how-to of a "G23" build, mating an F23 block with the H22 head. Very interesting, the only problem being they were trying to compare it to a K-swap. And be especially careful revving the F23 block because it has a 98mm stroke and narrower rod journals.
